Circular economy

The circular economy is an approach that aims to make better use of resources throughout the product life cycle in order to reduce environmental impact.

We work every day to move towards a circular economy model by integrating usage and end-of-life considerations into the design of our products in order to increase their lifespan and optimize their disassembly or recycling.

AUTOMATING SHOE RECYCLING WITH RESHOES

Through our Innovation Lab, dedicated to finding industrial solutions for repairing, reconditioning, and recycling shoes for our brands, we have partnered with the BALI Chair and CETIA in a circularity industrialization project called Reshoes. Conceived and created in September 2023 alongside partners such as Decathlon France, Salomon, and Refashion, Reshoes is an automated line based in Hendaye (64) that dismantles shoes (separating the upper from the sole) and detects materials in order to send them for recycling.

Reshoes is helping to accelerate our transition to circularity in the footwear industry. This initiative allows us to identify dismantling criteria to integrate into our eco-design tools and promote the decarbonization of products while stabilizing their prices. The goal? To dismantle a thousand shoes a day through automation!

SESSILE, REPAIRABLE AND RECYCLABLE SHOES

Sessile has created repairable and recyclable sneakers, designed and manufactured in France. Thanks to the repair and reconditioning process offered by La Manufacture, Sessile sneakers can be repaired to extend their lifespan: resole, leather re-dyeing, and replacement of laces and insoles. To date, several hundred pairs have already been repaired. A service that reduces waste while encouraging more responsible consumption.

If the sneakers are too damaged to be repaired, the materials are sorted, recycled, and reused. A concrete approach to limiting waste, where each step contributes to reducing everyone’s environmental impact and promotes local expertise.

WITH ITS REPAIRABLE AND RECYCLABLE SNEAKERS, SESSILE CONSIDERS THE END OF ITS PRODUCT’S LIFE FROM THE MOMENT IT IS DESIGNED!

TBS PARTNERS WITH LES RÉPARABLES

To encourage its customers to have their clothes repaired, TBS partnered in 2024 with Les Réparables, a sewing workshop in Vendée specializing in clothing repair services.

Through this partnership, TBS is enabling its customers to reduce their environmental impact by extending the life of their products and making textile repairs more accessible. Whether it’s tears, broken zippers, snags, or holes in clothing, the Les Réparables teams have the expertise to repair the brand’s garments.

With its Les Réparables x TBS offer, the brand is continuing its efforts to promote more responsible fashion:

A REPAIRED JACKET HAS A 44% LOWER ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT THAN BUYING A NEW ONE.

MONTLIMART DEVELOPING PRODUCTS FROM RECYCLED MATERIALS

The Montlimart teams are convinced that in order to limit the impact of fashion on the environment, they must constantly seek out new materials and techniques that enable reuse, recycling, and waste reduction.

The brand, which has been a mission-driven company since 2023, is constantly expanding its range of products made from recycled materials, certified by an international label that meets environmental and social requirements: GRS (Global Recycled Standard) for recycled fibers, GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) for natural fibers, and OEKO-TEX 100 for natural and synthetic fibers.

In its winter 2024 collection, Montlimart also uses Seaqual®, a 100% recycled yarn certified by GRS and OEKO-TEX 100, composed in part of waste recovered from the oceans. Specifically, Seaqual® is a yarn made from 10% marine waste and 90% post-consumer PET, i.e., recycled plastics from our land-based waste.
