French expertise

INNOVATING TO DEVELOP OUR INDUSTRIAL EXPERTISE

Our French industrial expertise is essential for developing and innovating around our circular economy projects.

It enables us to contribute to the construction of a truly circular industrial sector through a center of excellence that brings together four major areas of expertise:

  • MANUFACTURING
  • TRANSMISSION OF KNOW-HOW
  • INNOVATION
  • REPAIR

LA MANUFACTURE: A LIVING HERITAGE COMPANY

Since 1927, the Eram Group has consistently maintained its expertise in shoe manufacturing. It still has a workshop, La Manufacture, in Montjean-sur-Loire (49), which uses two distinct manufacturing processes: injection molding and welding. To develop our shoes, our workshop has its own design office with teams dedicated to eco-designing products.

La Manufacture makes its expertise and modern production facilities available to the Eram Group’s brands, as well as to external brands such as Neutra, 1083, Jules & Jenn, Royal Mer, Baron Papillon, and others. and has been awarded the “Bonus Réparation” label, an initiative of the eco-organization Refashion, which supports the repair of clothing and shoes.

It was awarded the “Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant” (Living Heritage Company) label in 2023. This label celebrates and distinguishes French companies that combine tradition, innovation, and excellence in their crafts and products.

A RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CENTER

Our R&D (Research & Development) center, also known as the “Innovation Lab,” aims to develop circular solutions and related services for designing, reusing, and recycling low-impact footwear. Our challenges:

  • Identifying and developing innovations in components and products: the Innovation Lab teams are constantly searching for new materials to experiment with in order to reduce environmental impact and improve product comfort and durability.
  • Developing industrializable technological solutions at the heart of circular fashion: the Group has committed to working with CETIA (Europe’s leading innovation platform dedicated to the automated sorting and dismantling of textiles and footwear) to support the environmental and technological shift in the textile and fashion industry.

A SHOE-MAKING SCHOOL

In December 2025, La Manufacture, in partnership with France Travail, opened a new session of the Shoe-Making School. This school perpetuates tradition and trains new shoemakers, imparting a rare and valuable skill. Each student is supported throughout their apprenticeship and trained by experienced staff.

In a few figures:

  • 5 candidates selected
  • 1 to 3 months of immersion in our workshop in Montjean-sur-Loire
  • 1 new theoretical module led by a team leader from La Manufacture
  • 1-year professional training contract
  • 3 to 4 recruitments expected, in line with the 2021 session (90% integration rate)
