Supporting social, ecological, and solidarity-based transition
The Albert Marie Endowment Fund, created by the fourth generation of the Biotteau family, supports and finances all philanthropic initiatives of general interest that address social, environmental, or regional issues, with the aim of promoting a sustainable and inclusive future.
Examples of projects carried out in France:
- Funding for a project by Écocyclerie des Mauges to improve the sorting and recycling of second-hand clothing and shoes
- Support for Carton plein, an association that helps people experiencing exclusion find employment by collecting and reusing used cardboard boxes
- Support for the Télémaque Nantes association, which helps young people from disadvantaged areas with their career guidance, developing their self-confidence, and finding their path through mentoring
Examples of projects carried out internationally:
- Installation of solar panels and a biogas station in an orphanage in Bangladesh with Lef for Life
- Provision of hygienic dispensers, renovation of latrines, and awareness-raising in six schools in Bangladesh with Better with Water
- Support for the association Enfants du Mékong, which helps reduce the exodus of women to factories in Thailand by offering them stable, local employment at Soieries du Mékong
“As a family business, social issues have always been at the heart of our family’s concerns. We want to take action by supporting projects that improve living conditions for everyone. By combining ecology and solidarity, we will leave a lasting and responsible footprint.”
— Sabrina BIOTTEAU, President of the Albert Marie Fund
Focus on four supported projects
LEF FOR LIFE
LEF for Life is an NGO based in Dhaka that provides free primary and secondary education to more than 300 disadvantaged children living in slums in Bangladesh. By installing solar panels and a biogas station, the Endowment Fund is helping the orphanage become energy self-sufficient so that it can use its other income to take in more children and purchase more equipment.
By supporting LEF, you are supporting a sustainable and responsible transition project.
EMMAÜS D’FILS
The Emmaüs D’Fils project is run by the Emmaüs Solidarité association, which welcomes and supports people experiencing severe exclusion and precariousness.
Co-developed by ten Emmaüs Solidarité organizations, this program aims to equip them with sewing equipment and launch a series of sewing/fashion workshops led by professionals.
The goal is to develop the use of sewing as a vehicle for training, integration, and well-being for those in need.
It is therefore a project with multiple purposes and impacts:
- Recycling, upcycling, and creation
- Well-being, creativity, and self-esteem
- Socialization and integration
- Skills & training
RENOVATION OF A SCHOOL IN INDIA
The Albert Marie Fund financed the renovation of Malayappalayam Higher Secondary School, located 30 km from the NSP factory (manufacturer of Gémo) and Primetex, both partners in the project, in Tirupur, India. The renovation, which was completed in April 2021, involved rebuilding the sanitary facilities, renovating the main school building, and installing two water purifiers. The school’s 900 students will now benefit from better teaching conditions.
LA CRAVATE SOLIDAIRE
La Cravate Solidaire fights against discrimination in hiring, particularly discrimination based on appearance. It supports people who are entering or re-entering the workforce in preparing for their future job interviews.
The association offers individual workshops that are free and open to all, where each candidate benefits from:
- personalized image consulting and a free outfit tailored to their career goals,
- HR coaching and preparation for future interviews with volunteer recruitment experts,
- a photo shoot to obtain a professional photo suitable for resumes.
